Cobb Alexander was formed by husband and wife team Stuart and Susan Roberts to work with people who want more from their lives, whether a greater sense of well-being, a new direction in life or more confidence and motivation to achieve what is most important to them in order to live life to the full.
The underlying aim of Cobb Alexander is to create a sense of balance between career, private life, health and overall well-being by providing a range of synergistic programmes that are tailored to meet our clients' specific needs.
The Gingko Biloba leaf incorporated in our logo was chosen to reflect our philosophy for living a full and vibrant life. Gingko is the oldest surviving species of tree on the planet, and is widely known for its multitude of medicinal properties including longevity. Although only relatively recently incorporated into western medicine, its many benefits have long been acknowledged in both Chinese and Auyervedic medicine.
Stuart has a comprehensive background in health and well-being and has served as an operational firefighter for over nineteen years, many of those as a physical training instructor. He is also a qualified naturopathic nutritionist and sports nutrition advisor. A major influence on his career choice was witnessing his father's long-term ill health and premature death. Stuart wanted to help others so they did not have to suffer in the same way.
In recent years he has studied in Canada and qualified in a unique physical training system developed by Dr Michael Colgan, one of the top research scientists on physical performance in the world. He is now able to offer this system in conjunction with full nutritional support to give his clients the best possible results. In order to help dispel the myth of accepting a loss of vitality as we age, Stuart is currently writing a book to help people maximise their health, whatever their age.
In the sixteen years that Susan worked for Investment Banks in London, she gained a wealth of experience in the recruitment, management and development of people, firstly as a manager and then as a Learning & Development specialist. Within this role she was involved in training consultancy; development of global talent, leadership and mentoring programmes; graduate recruitment; course design and delivery and one-to-one coaching.
Working with individuals to improve their self-confidence, find direction in their careers and achieve their specific goals soon became her most fulfilling work. She therefore decided to specialise in this area and qualified as a professional coach, gaining accreditation in work/life balance, confidence and career coaching and personal development training. She is able to draw upon her own experience of working in a stressful city job to enable her to better understand her clients' needs and aspirations. Having been published in an anthology, she is now working on her first book to be used as a quick reference guide to help people to achieve what is most important to them.
